The R&D area of Food and Environment aims to implement ICT in the food industry (AgroalTIC) and implementing solutions to improve the sustainability and the environment (GreenTIC).

Currently Barcelona Digital is working closely with relevant entities and companies of Food sector and ICT companies to develep R&D. projects. With the opening of offices in the Edifici TIC (ICT Building) of the Science and Technology Agri-Food Park in Lleida (PCiTAL), the center wants to enhance productivity growth and competitiveness in the food industry and the environment.

The new building, with an area of ​​1.700m2, will host the Data Processing Centre (DPC), the ICT incubator and the offices of ICT research and technology companies.

The new building allows to have space to accommodate technology-based companies to nursery sector-specific incubators, especially spin-off technology sector, and supplement the current supply of productive space to serve companies in a collaborative environment such as Science and Technology Agri-Food Park in Lleida .
