Barcelona Digital conducts its own investigation in order to strengthen the center expertise of its strategic lines focused on the application market, contribute to the generation of own assets and increase the capacity to generate new proposals, both aimed at private customers and public calls, and in particular, to various European programs to support R&Di.

During 2010, the research own has been about six fields:

• ICT for personalized clinical trials based on evidence

• Assistive technologies based on advanced human-machine interfaces

• Middleware for sensor networks in the environment of the Internet of Things
  .
• ICT tools for efficient management of electricity consumption
  .
• Security Cloud Computing Environments

• Advanced methods to combat botnets and other forms of cybercrime

Also, in the framework of Talent program, the Agency for Management of University and Research, AGAUR, have initiated three research works aimed at doctoral and one to post doctoral project. The doctoral works were:

• Multimodal biometric encryption for increased security and privacy.

• Research on efficient mechanisms of virtual coordinates based routing for sensor networks (WSN)
  .
• Intelligent system to support cognitive rehabilitation

The Post doctoral work has been:

• Improved information dissemination in vehicular environments.
