About us  eHealth R&D

The mission of the eHealth R&D group is to support our partners and customers in improving how healthcare is delivered by exploring new technologies and turning them into applied research solutions. This will increase their competitiveness through new and innovative technological services aimed to improve the efficiency and quality of healthcare services.

Our vision is to become a reference for both healthcare and social care by delivering ICT technologies that brings value to all of the stakeholders: users, healthcare organizations, social workers and their providers.

We lead the way toward a personalized, preventive, predictive, and evidence based medicine, while improving the quality of life for the elderly and for people with functional diversity and chronic conditions. Our technological expertise is supported by some of our healthcare services providers, hospitals, clinicians and life science researchers, which allows us to evolve our orientation and approach from the needs and requirements of medical and assistive practices.

Our specialization, which lies in the convergence of engineering and biology, specifically in the application of knowledge engineering in the biomedical field, is relevant in the context of the current challenges of our society. This requires solutions to optimize quality and efficiency of healthcare.

The group develops and manages health projects in collaboration with leading institutions, universities and companies in the field of e-health.

The eHealth R&D group focuses in the following research lines:

The Health R&D&i group aims to explore new technologies to turn them into new services and better products, which will contribute added value to users and healthcare organizations. Since 2008, the Health research group has coordinated research projects with a total budget of more than 10 M€.

Our vision is to lead the way forward to a personalized, preventive, predictive and evidence based medicine, and also to a better quality of life for the elderly, the disabled, and for people with chronic conditions. Our expertise in both cases comes the technological ground, but we partner very closely with healthcare systems, hospitals, clinicians and life science researchers, and we have evolved our orientation and approach from the needs and requirements of the medical and assistive practice.

Our specialization, which lies in the convergence of engineering and biology, and specifically in the application of knowledge engineering in the biomedical field, is relevant in the context of the current challenges of our society, which needs solutions to optimize quality and efficiency of healthcare.
